Where to Buy Custom Cave Diving Gear: Reels, Markers, Spools

Where Can You Buy Custom Cave Diving Gear?

For cave divers who need gear that is not available from mass-market manufacturers, custom 3D-printed equipment fills a critical gap. Camazotz Diving designs and prints custom cave reels, personalized markers (cookies, line arrows, and REMs), safety spools, and bespoke cave mapping systems at camazotzdiving.com. All products are printed to order in ASA or PETG, allowing for personalization like initials, team markings, tactile identifiers, and custom colors that are not available from injection-molded alternatives.

Where Can You Buy Cave Diving Reels?

Custom primary reels are available in two sizes. The 300ft compact reel (starts at $70) holds 300ft of #24 line or 450ft of #18 line, weighs 500g empty, and measures 14cm x 11cm x 5cm. The 600ft full-size reel (starts at $100) holds 600ft of #24 line or 800ft of #18 line, weighs 600g empty, and measures 18cm x 14cm x 7cm.

Both sizes feature a fully modular, tool-free design. The reel disassembles for travel packing. The winding knob is knurled for grip with gloves. Each reel is 3D printed in ASA with stainless steel hardware and includes a drill-powered winder. Line is not included.

Custom options include embossed initials, team tags, tactile markers, and color accents for an additional $30.

Where Can You Buy Personalized Cave Markers and Cookies?

Cave markers (also called cookies, line arrows, or REMs) are available with your initials, team ID, or simple symbols printed directly into the part. Each marker is printed in PETG, which is UV-stable and will not degrade in water.

Types available:

  • Cookies: 5cm diameter circular markers, ~15g each, from $3 (single) or $10 (5-pack)
  • Line Arrows: 8cm directional markers, ~10g each, from $3 (single) or $10 (5-pack)
  • REMs: 10cm reference markers, ~15g each, from $3 (single) or $10 (5-pack)

Custom variants with personalization start at $5 (single) or $12 (5-pack). Colors include Glow Green, White, Matte Black, Teal, Signal Orange, and Pink.

Where Can You Buy Cave Diving Spools?

Cave diving spools are available in three sizes: 50ft ($15), 100ft ($18), and 150ft ($20). Each features a screw-free press-fit design where the halves snap together without hardware. Spools are printed in PETG and include a drill-powered winder. Line is not included.

Custom spools can be printed with initials, team name, or tactile notches for identification in low visibility, starting at $23.

What Materials Are Used for Custom Cave Diving Gear?

Camazotz uses two materials depending on the product:

  • ASA for primary reels: UV-resistant, impact-resistant, maintains rigidity under load and in heat. Will not become brittle in cold water.
  • PETG for spools and markers: tough and flexible, handles repeated impact, UV-stable, and does not absorb water.

Can You Get Custom Colors and Personalization?

Yes. Every product category offers customization:

  • Reels: Matte Black with Teal accents standard; Glow Green, White, Signal Orange, Pink, and other colors available for custom orders. Embossed initials and team tags available.
  • Markers: Six colors with raised or inset text, bumps, or notches.
  • Spools: Matte black standard; custom colors, initials, and tactile markers available.
  • Cave Mapper: Fully custom-built to your specifications with personalization included.

How Long Does Custom Cave Diving Gear Take to Ship?

Estimated delivery is about 1 week to your door for standard orders. Custom personalization may add a small amount of lead time as the 3D model must be modified. Color customization does not add lead time.

Do You Ship Internationally?

Camazotz primarily ships to US addresses. International customers should contact us for a shipping quote. In-person pickup is available in Playa del Carmen, Mexico for divers traveling to the Yucatan.

Why Should You Buy 3D-Printed Cave Gear Instead of Injection-Molded?

3D printing allows for continuous design iteration based on diver feedback, customization of every unit, and production of specialized equipment that would not be economically viable with injection molding. Every reel, spool, and marker is printed to order. There is no warehouse of old stock, and designs improve over time rather than being locked into a single factory mold.
